Our Mission

While running thousands of miles through every kind of weather over the roads and trails – and at marathons in all 50 states – the Running4 initiative has raised over $210,000 for the nation’s preeminent pediatric cancer organizations.

And now the Running4 community is excited to embark upon a new alliance with two 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations who share the mission of providing life-changing assistance to local families of children who have been diagnosed with cancer:

BabyJay’s Legacy of Hope &
The Rock Chalk Roundball Classic

These kids are here to love and survive. We’re here to make sure they have the support they need and deserve.

Thank you for your generous support.

Our Charity Partners

Please read further to learn more about our amazing partners who will each receive half of your donation.

BabyJay’s
Legacy of Hope

EIN: 45-4351414

BabyJay’s Legacy of Hope was founded by Erica and Jason Souter in honor of their daughter, Jayden “BabyJay” Souter, who was diagnosed at the age of 3 with a Wilms Tumor and at the age of 5 earned her angel wings.

Our charity fights for children like Jayden that deserve a chance at life.

We provide these families support during the most critical time, while the kids are being treated, by assisting with gas, food, utilities, clothing, and medical bills.

We also offer a shoulder to cry on, a voice on the other end of the phone.

We understand.

We’ve been there.

Rock Chalk
Roundball Classic

EIN: 81-2811308

Since its inception in 2009, the Rock Chalk Roundball Classic has raised funds for the families of local children who are undergoing treatment for cancer.

The game’s founder and organizer is Brian Hanni, the Voice of the Jayhawks, who wanted to use his platform in Kansas Athletics to remind former KU stars of the position of influence they still have even after their days at Allen Fieldhouse are over.

All donations go directly to families facing a medical diagnosis like cancer. The money covers medical bills and travel expenses to see specialists.

It helps ease the financial burden placed on families, and helps them to focus on what matters: getting better.

A Daily Purpose

In addition to raising funds for pediatric cancer charities, our purpose is to support others by dedicating each of our daily marathon training runs to an Angel, Fighter, or Survivor of cancer while posting a message of encouragement on our Running4 Facebook page.

We hope you enjoy this video montage chronicling our daily training runs over the course of a typical year.

RunKeeper

Over 1000 daily runs, as chronicled by the RunKeeper app, in less than five minutes.
